Red Beans in a Crockpot Recipe - Crockpot meals is not only the easiest way to prepare a meal but one of the cheapest. Cooking beans in the crockpot will not only save time but the end results will have better texture and taste.

Here is another idea for red beans for those who don’t have cans of beans on hand. I buy the Furmano's read beani seasoning packets which are pretty cheap. Combine with whatever you like in your red bean. I usually do canned tomatoes, onion, hamburger meat, pinto beans, frozen corn. It’s very cheap and filling.

Red Beans Crockpot Recipe

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 6-8 hours

Meal Preparation Ingredients:
  • 16 ounces kidney beans
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 3 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
Meal Preparation Directions:
  1. Put everything in the crock pot on high heat.
  2. Cook on high, covered for 6-10 hours. Check liquid level, adding water if needed to cover the beans.
  3. You can add ham or beef to complete the meal.
Meal Assembly:

Serves 20 – serve with a dinner salad and some fresh dinner rolls for a complete healthy dinner.

Tip: Double the ingredients for a make ahead freezer meal!
