Obesity Matters - Negative Effects of Obesity - Food brings in energy that is used to perform all body functions or stored otherwise. The surplus body fats get stored. Storing lots of fats cause people to become obese. It is common that obese people are more prone to diseases like cancer, heart problems, respiratory ailments, and other liver and bone diseases.
The rate at which obesity is affecting people is increasing day by day so do the health issues related to it therefore it is necessary to understand the root cause of obesity first. Research and other observations show that some people are born that way and get fat every day even if they do not eat enough and it holds true but the fact is that there are other causes of obesity as well that are man-made. The natural obesity has to do with the genetic makeup of an individual, if it is in his family, the genes may dominate and make him an obese. Other reasons that are man-made include lack of exercise, unhealthy and non active lifestyle that people have these days like we work, eat, watch TV etc and then sleep.
The greatest threat of being obese is that it shortens one’s life while they cannot enjoy life as much as others can since they have their own limitations. In a fat person the sugar and fat remains in the blood and thereby increases the chances of Diabetes. Because of increase in the cholesterol level in terms of the low density lipoprotein, that is harmful, one increases the risk of heart problems.
The dilemma once again is that overweight women suffer more than overweight men and are more likely to be effected by diseases. Particularly at the time of pregnancy an overweight woman has to face much more than expected.
Like it is true that all body parts are connected to one another and the better the coordination is the perfect it works; similarly damage to any one body system means damage to the whole body. Being obese means distortion of blood pressure, the blood sugar level, insulin production etc thus the whole system of an overweight individual is affected adversely.
